Maxwell Baakoh’s Manager, Maxwell Nana Essien has disclosed that his client is not satisfied with bid sent to them by Asante Kotoko for renewal f contract.

According to him, the Porcupine Warriors have offered Baakoh a contract which will see him earning GHS 3,500 a month as salary but they have requested for an improved offer.

Baako joined the Kumasi-based club on a two-year deal in 2018 from Karela United, but he is on his way out of the club after rejecting contract extension talks with the Porcupine Warriors with his current contract set to expire on October 30.

Nana Essien revealed that the Reds owe Baakoh GHS 25,000 from the initial contract and, that they must settle it before they start fresh negotiations.

“Asante Kotoko has made an offer to the player but they can do better, new offer should be better than the previous. The new offer wants to pay Maxwell Baakoh GHc 3500 monthly but we want them to give an improved offer, ” Nana Essien told Oyerepa FM.

“It’s true Kotoko is yet to pay GHc 25000 for the last season which expires on Friday. They should pay that then we start with fresh negotiations, ” he revealed.

It is believed that several clubs in the Ghana Premier League have expressed interest in signing the talented forward on a free transfer before October 31.

Other reports indicate that Baakoh could move outside for a deal worth $200,000.

He is currently having pre-season with Kotoko in Koforidua ahead of the new season.
