Asante Kotoko call off move for Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala

Ghanaian top-flight side Asante Kotoko have called off their move for highly-rated Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala, according to Oyerepa FM.

The Porcupine Warriors decided against signing the attacker after the player demanded full payment of his signing-on fee.

The 21-year-old was identified as top transfer target for the Reds following his explosive performance in the Uganda Premier League.

Kotoko was in advanced talks with the young forward and was expected to arrive in Ghana over the weekend to sign a three-year deal.

But Kotoko have cancelled plans of acquiring his services.

According to Oyerepa FM, the management of Kotoko have started talks with former Ashantigold striker Shafiu Mumuni as the Porcupine Warriors wants to sign him before the transfer deadline on Friday.
