1 min read

Assistant coach of Hearts Of Oak Obeng Hamza Mohammed has described the goal conceded in their game against Karela United as cheap.

The Phobians shared the spoils with the Passion and Pride lads in match-day 31 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Hearts took the lead through youngster Benjamin York, but was levelled through substitute Emmanuel Owusu Boakye with 8 minutes to end proceedings.

In a post-match interview, Hamza Obeng described the goal conceded as “very cheap” but refused to give up on the league title.

“The goal we conceded was very cheap. A club like Hearts of Oak shouldn’t be conceding such a goal. That’s not how to cover it. It was too cheap.

“We will go back and make all the necessary corrections. We had wanted to defend the league title, but we’ll see what we can do.”

The stalemate keeps the Rainbow club in 4th spot on the log sheet with 48 points from 30 games. On the other hand, Karela United moved up one spot up to the 7th position courtesy the stalemate.

Asante Kotoko need a draw in their outstanding game against AshantiGold on Thursday to be confirmed as 2021/22 league champions.
