Brace from Isaac Opoku Agyemang and Yaw Annor propelled the Unstoppable Ashantigold SC to a humiliating 5-1 victory over King Faisel in match week three clash which has been cleared off today.
Yaw Annor tested the prowess of the visitors after just 8 minutes from kickoff but his effort was piled out by goalkeeper Kaisan Yusiu which resulted into an early corner kick.
Kaisan again with another spectacular save to deny Appiah McCarthy from snatching the lead for the home side. Finally, the Miners broke the deadlock on the 16th minute after several attempts kind courtesy Isaac Opoku Agyemang.
King Faisal were outplayed in the game who were forced to give away balls anyhow to the Ashgold midfield. David Abagna came so close to getting the second for Ashantigold but his effort went wide off the crossbar. Finally, equaliser in Obuasi as Kwame Peprah pounced on a silly error at the back of Ashgold to draw King Faisal back on level on the 26th minute.
Just three minutes after levelling things up, the ‘Isha Allah’ boys went down again after David Abagna scored his second of the season to send his side in front again.
With constant pressure from the visitors in the last ten minutes of the first half, King Faisal got a penalty just on the stroke of half time after Kwame Moses brought down Kwame Peprah in the box.
Looking to secure his second of the day and bring his side back on level again, Kwame Peprah struck the ball straight to the goalpost. Just Unlucky! Explosive start from Ashgold in the second half yielded their third goal of the game- scored by Isaac Opoku Agyemang who netted his second of the day.
Certainly, Yaw Annor finally registered his name on the scoresheet after missing some decent chances to make it 4-1 for the home team. Just and when, many thought it is going to end like that, Yaw Annor again fired to seal brace for himself and Ashgold’s fifth of the day.
It finished 5-1 in favour of Ashantigold SC in the end. The Miners records second victory of the season after four games- they take on Eleven Wonders over the weekend in matchweek six in Techiman.
