Match Report: Aduana Stars silence Hearts of Oak in Dormaa

Aduana stars produced one of their best performances of the season to beat Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier league week 1 outstanding game at the Dormaa Agueman Badu Park.
It was Aduana Stars who first showed intention of scoring in the 4th minute when Yaya Mohammed was sent a short pass through the Hearts defence, but was flagged offside before he could cause any havoc.
Accra Hearts of Oak responded to the challenge by their hosts with Raddy Ovouka on the left, the Congolese defender took a ball around the center circle, weaved through the defence of Aduana, before volleying for Joseph Addo to push the ball out to Corner in the 12th minute.
Aduana Stars seized the game adter the 20th minute mark when they placed more men in midfield to challenge that of their opponents.
The battle was then left for Prince Acquah, Flavien Kongoza, and Samuel Bioh with support from Charles Gyamfi Kamara.
Aduana’s efforts were rewarded with Several free kicks in the area of the Phobians, but missed all, until the 42nd minute when Isaac Kwain Delivered a corner straight to the head of Yaya Mohammed who found Flavien Kongoza, whose shot deflected to the path of Yaya Mohammed to connect for the first goal.
Rhe Fire boys kept pushing for more goals, but were prevented by the Hearts defence going into the half time break.
Aduana Stars returned from the break not looking exciting with the single goal, and fought for more pushing all rheir attacking players into the Half goal area.
Their numerical strengths proved too strong foe the guest who made their first substitution with Victor Aidoo coming in for Kwadwo Obeng Jr.
Having built lots of confidence, Aduana Stars maintained their press for the second goal with Yaya Mohammed tormenting the defence.
The pressure from Aduana Paid off once again in the 48th minute when Prince Acquah met a rebound from Isaac Kwain’s corner kick before unleashing a 25 yard drive straight into the net.
Coach Kosta Papic effect another substitution with Frederick Ansah Botchway coming on for Michell Sarpong in an attempt to regroup to get a face saving goal, that however did not materialize.
Aduana controlled the game from all departments, preventing Hearts of Oak from Causing any problems for them.
Just when everyone thought the game was over, Referee on the day awarded Hearts of Oak a penalty after an Aduana Stars player was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty box, but Robert Addo Sowah kicked straight into the waiting hands of Joseph Addo in goal for Aduana stars.
