Contrary to speculations that the new Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz will be paid USD 100,000 a month, the Minister for Sports and Recreation Honourable Kofi Adams says it is less than that.

“Yes we have given the coach four months contract but it is not true we are going to pay him USD 100,000 monthly. That is a lie. It is never true” he stated.

Ghana has finally settled on a 73-year-old Portuguese international Carlos Queiroz after the GFA terminated the appointment of coach Otto Addo for his inconsistent performance with the Black Stars.

The experienced coach, with four FIFA World Cup appearances, has been given a short term contract.

According to the Sports Minister, his contract is subjected to renewal base on how he will fare at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The coach has officially begun work moving up and down in his quest to search for quality players for the Black Stars both home and and abroad.

When pushed to mention the exact salary agreed for coach Carlos Queiroz, Honourable Kofi Adams said:

“I can’t disclose it for now because there are others few things we have to finalise. But it’s not USD 100,000. Maybe we negotiated well and at the appropriate time we will make everything public because we have to be transparent”.
