The Minister for Sports and Recreation Honourable Kofi Iddi Adams has made it emphatically clear that all bills in regards to accommodation for the new Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz will be paid by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and not the state.
“It is the GFA who will make sure the coach gets a place to stay for the next three to four months. Whether it is a hotel or rented apartment, the GFA will pay the bills”
“The state had already provided a permanent residence for Black Stars coaches even before I came to office. But the GFA has converted it into a technical directorate or what they consider useful. So they have to look for a new place for the coach to stay and pay the bills”.
The hard working Minister for Sports and Recreation, Honourable Kofi Adams disclosed this in a recent radio interview.
It has emerged that the immediate past head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo wasn’t having a permanent residence allocated to him by the state.
This was simply because an earlier acquired utra modern coaches residence provided by the Sports Ministry at Airport Residencial Area in Accra has been changed for technical purposes by the GFA.
Consequently, the new Black Stars coach, Carlos Queiroz will have to stay in a hotel for the duration of his contract.
Many Ghanaians feel disturbed about this situation as they thought it incur another cost to the state but the Sports Minister has clarified that the financial responsibility will rather lie on the shoulders of the GFA.
