The Ghana Football Association (GFA) are smiling to receive a whooping amount of $12.5 million for Black Stars participation in this year’s 2026 FIFA World Cup after the world’s football governing body reviewed the prize money for the competition.

For working extremely hard to earn qualification for the biggest showpiece, Ghana will be rewarded with $10M in addition to $2.5M as preparatory money for the FIFA Mundial.

The full package will therefore sum up to $12.5 million. This is obviously a huge financial boost to the Black Stars of Ghana as they gear up for their fifth FIFA World Cup having already represented in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022.

The Ghana Black Stars showed class to top Group I during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with an amazing 25 points. In ten games, they won eight, drew one and lost one with a goal difference of 17.

Madagascar came second with 19 points followed by Mali 18 points, Comoros 15 points, Central Africa Republic 8 points and Chad 1.

New Manager Carlos Queiroz will hold fort when Ghana battle Panama, England and Croatia in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup starting from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
