Asante Kotoko’s Board Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei, has expressed his confidence that their lethal forward, Franck Etouga Mbella, will remain with the club for the 2022/23 season.
The 21-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors at the start of the season, and his outstanding and consistent performance has made him a fan favorite in Kumasi.
The lanky attacker has been exceptional, scoring a total of 21 goals in the league thus far, and is presently the top scorer in Ghanaian league.
Several reports have linked him to clubs in Spain, Italy and France.
But speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the club’s board head has assured all Kotoko supporters that, they will make every effort to keep Mbella and will attempt to make more acquisitions in order to build a formidable team for their African campaign.
“As we participate in Africa, we can’t go without Mbella.”
“We rather need more quality additions, so how can we sell our best player? We can’t let him go, we will do all we can to keep him.”
Franck Mbella, 21, has another chance to extend his goal tally this weekend when they face Accra Lions in their final fixture of the season.
