English Championship side Swansea City have confirmed the departure of Black Stars captain Andre Ayew after a three-year stay at the club.
Ghana international leaves the English second-tier outfit following the expiration of his contract.
Ayew, 31, brought his second spell at the Liberty Stadium to an end after an initial departure in 2015 to West Ham United before rejoining the Swans after a season stay at the London club.
Ayew has been impressive being the club’s top scorer for the past two seasons, scoring 35 goals since returning from a loan spell at Fenerbahce.
The club’s official statement reads, ”Andre Ayew, Kieron Freeman, Declan John and Barrie McKay have seen their contracts come to an end and will depart the Liberty Stadium.”
His departure from the Championship side comes following their failure to secure a promotion to the English Premier League after losing 2-0 to Brentford in the Championship play-off final at the Wembley stadium.
Ayew managed to score 47 goals and provided nineteen assists in his 147 game outings for Swansea City.
