OFFICIAL: Asante Kotoko sack head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has announced the departure of Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum following a string of disappointing results, according to an official statement released by the club.

The statement read: “This decision was reached following constructive discussions between both parties, with a shared understanding that it is in the best interest of the club at this time.

“We thank Coach Ogum for his dedication and service to the club, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

“We urge our supporters to remain calm and continue to support the club during this transition. Further updates will be communicated in due course,” the statement ended.

The Porcupine Warriors have recently slipped in form, dropping from first place in the Ghana Premier League standings. They now sit in fourth place with 47 points, six points behind the league leaders.

This downturn includes back-to-back 1-1 draws against Heart of Lions and Bechem United, followed by heavy defeats, 3-0 to Accra Lions and 2-0 to Nations FC.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC Coach Karim Zito has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Dr. Ogum.
