Asante Kotoko to sack Prosper Narteh Ogum

1 min read

Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee (IMC) is widely reported to have held an emergency meeting on Monday morning in a bid to end their contract with the head coach of the side, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum following the club’s abysmal performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

This is due to the club’s two consecutive defeats – a 3-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Accra Lions and a 2-0 loss tp neighbours Nations FC yesterday.

The poor results have pushed the Porcupine Warriors to fourth on the log with 47 points after 28 rounds of matches in the Ghanaian top-flight.

According to the multiple sources in Kumasi, the IMC has already made their decision and are not ready to maintain the former WAFA gaffer. The report further suggests that the hierarchy has made contacts with Ogum’s potential successors.

An official announcement is expected to be made soon by the club.

Kotoko has secured 13 wins, 8 draws, and 7 defeats, scoring 28 goals and conceding 21 in the process.

The club is also in the FA Cup and will be facing Berekum Chelsea in the Semifinals next month.
