Match Report : Two second-half goals hand Hearts Of Oak win against King Faisal

Accra Hearts of Oak defeated King Faisal 1-0 to bounce back to winning ways and keep their dreams of winning their first league title since 2009 alive.
Coach Samuel Boadu made a few changes to the team that lost 2-0 to Dreams last weekend, Richard Attah, Robert Addo and Emmanuel Netty came in. For King Faisal, Seidu Salifu, Toufiq Razak and Paul Aidoo were handed starts.

The first half of the game ended scoreless. Hearts of Oak came close on a number of occasions. Salifu Ibrahim struck the woodwork from a free kick whiles Victor Aidoo and Emmanuel Netty forced Danlad Ibrahim into making some good saves.
The Phobians started the second half just like they played in the first and took a deserving lead in the 57th minute, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr scored from close range after a good combination by Salifu Ibrahim and Daniel Afriyie.
Hearts nearly doubled their lead in the 77th minute, a ferocious strike from a free kick by Emmanuel Netty was smartly kept out by Danlad Ibrahim.
The Phobians came close again in the 84th minute, Obeng Jnr’s effort from the edge of the box struck the base of the post.
Hearts sealed the victory in the 88th minute, Salifu Ibrahim beat the offside trap and laid a pass to Daniel Afriyie to put the ball into an empty net. Salifu Ibrahim was named man of the match.
The victory keeps Hearts of Oak in 4th position with 37 points after 23 games, 4 points behind leaders and rivals Asante Kotoko. King Faisal remain in 17th position with 23 points after 23 games.
