Match Report: Police National escape Ghana Army ‘wrath’ in entertaining 6-Goal thriller in Pre-season Shakeup

Police National FC warmed up for the upcoming Greater Accra Division Two League with a 3-3 stalemate at the hands of Ghana Army FC at Tesano, Accra on Friday morning.

A promising start to the pre-season shake up lived up to its billing as an anticipated end to end clash between the lower tier sides at the Police Depot Park.

Police National FC exhibited some great display at the initial stages of the encounter, creating descent chances only for their wasteful shooting to deny them.

The ever-entertaining Dagadu Emmanuel opened the scoring with a powerful header on the 41st minute for the visitors to reflect the true state of affairs in the offseason duel.

It was a deserved lead for the Army side in the first stanza of the off-season shakeup.

Police National FC intensified their search for the equalizer but their efforts either met an inspired goalkeeper or forest of legs.

The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Ghana Army FC.

Just two minutes into the second department of the game, the visitors doubled their lead through Abel Ansah to make it 2-0.

The bruised home team win and dispatched a penalty two minutes after the visitor’s second goal to reduce their deficit through Justice Essel.

The equalizer boosted the home side as they went ahead to pull parity in the 70th minute, thanks to Alfred Awiah’s strike.

Just when the game was heading to a pulsating drawn scoreline, Abel Ansah bagged his second goal for the visitors to make it 3-2 before the home side got another spot-kick to level again to make it 3-3. Justice Essel nicely converted to score his second on the day.

Ghana Army FC ended the game with 10 men as Captain of the side Akabouri Shadrack was shown a red card in the injury time.

The game ended 3-3 to reflect the true proceeding on the pitch.

Both teams are currently preparing for the Greater Accra regional 2nd division league.
