Match Report: In-form King Faisal beat Ashantigold to record third straight win

King Faisal FC’s perfect start to the season continues as they stun regional rivals Ashantigold SC 2-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in a Ghana Premier League matchday 3 encounter.

The Inshallah boys since the start of the 2021/2022 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign has been impressive, defeating WAFA and Aduana Stars in their first two matches and have today added Ashgold to their victims.

Although both teams played well in the first half, neither side could get a goal and had to settle for a draw at the break.

Courtesy of a master performance in the second half, King Faisal scored two goals through Enock Morrison and Ibrahim Osman to cruise to a delightful 2-0 win at the end of the contest.

Today’s win means that King Faisal have climbed to 2nd on the Ghana Premier League table with 9 points from the first three matches of the season, same as Asante Kotoko who are on top.

King Faisal next travel to the Golden City Park to take on Berekum Chelsea who have been poor since the start of the season with Ashantigold hosting struggling Hearts of Oak in Obuasi.
