Lower your expectations – Kosta Papic tells Hearts Of Oak supporters after 2-0 defeat to Aduana Stars

1 min read

Hearts Of Oak trainer, Kosta Papic has insisted that his players were not ready in their 2-0 defeat to struggling Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Wednesday.

According to Papic, the fans should not expect much from the team in the ongoing Ghana Premier League because the team is not stable to secure winning streak since he replaced Edward Nii Odoom a few days ago.

The Serbian led the Rainbow Club to thrash Dreams FC 3-0 on his debut on Sunday in Accra but suffered a 2-0 defeat to Aduana Stars on Wednesday – a match-day 1 fixture which was postponed due to COVID-19 issues.

Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to the Fire Boys in Dormaa, Papic indicated that he was satisfied with the first-half performance of his charges.

“We were not ready for the match obviously I mean the players. They were a little bit better in the first half but not in the second half which is not enough,” Papic said after the game.

“Missing some many chances and a penalty did not give us the chance to win the match today”

“As I said before the match, it’s going to be ups and downs. One match you win and one match you lose for now until the team is stable. Time isn’t there but it [victories] will come”

Hearts of Oak currently lies the tenth position with 5 points in the 18-club league from 5 games.
