Ghanaian forward, Kwame Opoku has opened his goal-scoring account for Algerian giants USM Alger in a 2-0 victory against rivals MC Alger at the Stade Omar Hammadi.
The former Asante Kotoko SC forward netted his debut goal in the Algiers-derby against MC Alger in Algiers on Saturday evening.
The Black Stars striker was handed his first start for the Red and Blacks since he joined the Algerian top-flight side from the Porcupine Warriors in afout-and-a-half year deal last month.
Opoku scored his debut goal for the club on his 22nd birthday 19 minutes into their quarter-final Cup game against City rivals MC Alger.
The first half of the match ended 1-0 to the home team with the only in the game so far scored by the Ghanaian international and the former Kotoko topsman.
Zakaria Naidji scored USM Alger’s second goal in the 90th minute to secure qualification to the semi-finals of the league cup.
