Kotoku Royals clinch promotion to Ghana Premier League

After a goalless draw against Tema Youth at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday, Akim Oda-based Kotoku Royals rewrote their history books by clinching promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time.

With 62 points, Kotoku Royals are one point ahead of Liberty Professionals, who are in second position in Zone Three.

For the first time in their history, the citizens of Oda township will have a Premier League team.

After FC Samartex1996, Kotoku Royals became the second team to be promoted to the Premier League for the following season.

Fans at the Akim Oda will be hoping to feast from the tactical brilliance of the gaffer to maintain their premier league status.

In Zone One, Tamale City and Nsoatreman FC will face off in a play-off after finishing the group with the same number of points(71), as well as the identical head-to-head record.

Three clubs in total are expected to join the Premier League next season replacing the three teams that will be relegated.
