Kotoko will function like Southampton – Nana Yaw Amponsah

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah has indicated that he hopes to plug the Porcupine Warriors into Southampton FC to achieve sustainable development.

The fresh foreign partnership deal between the two sides will see the Saints assisting the development of the Ghanaian giant’s strategy both on and off the field.

The English Premier League side is expected to aid the record Ghana Premier League winners in areas like coaching, academy football growth, commercial and operational strategy development, among others.

Commenting on the groundbreaking announcement of the partnership, Nana Yaw Amponsah reiterated his vision of making the club improve at every department.

He expressed his ambitions to make the club function like Southampton.

“This partnership enables us to plug Asante Kotoko into Southampton in such a way that Kotoko functions like Southampton.

“Kotoko would have everything Southampton has but to a level that reflects our different budgets.

“I believe that with the expertise and resources available at Southampton, we can tap into this and develop our setup to look and feel professional like Saints.”

Asante Kotoko is now the first African side to enter into a partnership with Southampton.

Southampton have one of the best Academy systems in the world.
