Kotoko can win the league – Johnson Smith

Asante Kotoko interim trainer, Johnson Smith has opined that his side has a chance of winning the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League title.

He made this remarks after handing Inter Allies their fifth defeat of the season at the Accra Sports Stadium on match-day 12 of the season Wednesday night.

The Porcupine Warriors secured a slim 1-0 win to the Capelli boys. Guinea import Naby Laye Keita netted the only goal from the penalty spot in the 68th minute to ensure the Porcupine Warriors returned to winning ways.

The hard-fought victory has moved the Reds to 3rd position with 20 points after 12 games.

Smith believes that the title race is still open and his side can win it.

Asked if Kotoko looks like a team that can win the league this season, he replied, “Oh, we can win it.”

Kotoko will next play leaders Karela United at the CAM Park on Sunday.

Smith has secured 4 wins, three draws and a defeat in the 8 games he has supervised since taking the position after the sacking of Maxwell Konadu.
