Ghanaian striker Yaw Annor has set his sights on winning the 2023/24 Egyptian Premier League goal King Award.
Annor, who plays for Ismaily SC believes he has gained the requisite experience ahead of his second season in Egypt to win the most cherished individual award in the Egyptian Premier League.
He scored seven goals, winning a few man-of-the-match awards in his maiden season, assisting Ismaily to place 11th with 40 points.
“We have started our preseason and will join my colleagues soon. But my target for the upcoming season is to win the Egyptian goal king,” he told Otec FM in Kumasi.
“I am not the first Ghanaian to play there and I can say John Antwi did tremendous work winning the goal king. So, it will serve as a big motivation.”
The 25-year-old scored 22 goals in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season to win the goal king award with a stiff opposition from Asante Kotoko forward Frank Etouga Mbella.
Several reports confirmed Annor was sold to the Egyptian top flight for $200,000.
