INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: Ghana suffer another defeat to South Korea as Black Meteors end Asia tour with 15-2 aggregate defeat

The male national U23 team of Ghana wrapped up their international friendlies in Asia with a defeat to South Korea on Tuesday morning.

The South Korea U24 team inflicted a 2-1 defeat on the Ghana’s Olympic team in their second friendly at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.

The Koreans dominated the game with several goal glaring opportunities in the first half as they managed to open the score on the stroke of halftime.

 Jeong Wooyeong fired the opener for the home side after tapping in an early attempt from Cho Youngwook which was denied by the post into the empty net on the 41st minute of the game.

The South Koreans could be found guilty for squandering the numerous chances created in the first department of the game despite ending it with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Black Meteors of Ghana commenced the game on a good note with hopes of getting the leveller.

On the 51st minute, Schalke 04 young striker Joselpho Barnes snatched the equaliser for the Black Meteors after making good use of Osman Bukari’s effort to keep their hopes alive.

The Koreans gained possession to pile up pressure on Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s charges after conceding before the hour-mark.

Substitute Lee Dong Jun secured South Korea a resounding victory over Ghana ahead of the Olympics Games on the 75th minute after a solo run to struck the ball firmly into the back of goalkeeper William Essu’s net.

Ghana managed to hold on the Koreans with the introduction of Precious Boah and Samuel Boakye but failed to level the score as the entire duration of the game ended in a 2-1 win in favor of South Korea.

Ghana commenced their Asian tour friendlies against Japan but suffered 10-0 aggregate defeat in the two-fixture games before losing to South Korea 3-1 on Saturday and 2-1 in the final game this morning.
