Cricket League: Supreme maintains their lead after week 3 victory against Ras Bingi

Supreme Cricket Club has kept their position on the Presidents Invitational T20 league table after their week 3 triumph over Ras Bingi Cricket Club on Oval A in the afternoon of Sunday, June 13, 2021.
With 6 points at the summit, Supreme who were joint leaders with BGC last week, are now 2 points clear off CSK, BGC and Defenders CC, who are all on 4 points accordingly as only BGC are yet to play their third match.
Supreme won by 54 runs after their 128 runs for 7 wickets in the first innings, couldn’t be attained by their opponents, who scored 74 runs, all out in 19.3 overs.
Captain of Supreme Cricket Club, Obed Harvey scored a remarkable 54 runs, off 44 balls in the batting performance. Obed, who was the 5th batsman, spent 86 minutes in the game and was bowled by Nurudeen Ibrahim on the 19.1 over with his Team’s score at 120 runs for 7 wickets.
He was adjudged Player of the Match as his bowling figures read 3/10 in 4 overs.
Rufus Ntiamoah of Ras Bingi, took 2/22 in 4 overs whereas Nurudeen Ibrahim took 2/32 in 4 overs. Nurudeen Ibrahim had a great game although they lost as he scored 45/54.
Ras Bingi, finds themselves at the opposite side of the table with no points after 3 matches.
In the other afternoon match Oval B, Karizma came close in their chase of a 107/9 score by Defenders Cricket Club in the first innings but could only manage 101/9 in the second innings.
Defenders CC won by 6 runs after the chase became strong in the 17th over, as Aqeel Israr made use of Abhin Ashok’s ball, scoring 2 6’s (91/7) but weak in the rest of the overs.
Godfred Bakiweyem scored 43/29 and took 3/21 in 4 overs to be adjudged the Player of the Match.
In the morning on Oval A, CSK were 17 runs victors over Don Bruce after the former scored 141/9 and the latter scored 124/9.
Man of the Match, Arumugam Venkatesh scored 30/31 as CSK had 23 extras to their efforts in the first innings.
Meanwhile, Goverdhan Lal Nagwanshi of Don Bruce was impressive in the bowling figures, taking 5 wickets and giving away 20 runs in 4 overs.
It was a week of winning by Runs, as Salt n’ Pepper also won by 33 runs against MMG on Oval B. Salt n’ Pepper scored 122/10 in 19.4 overs while MMG could only manage 89/9.
Mukesh Mohan’s 2 wickets, giving away 6 runs in 3 overs together with his 35 runs off 39 balls, won him the Player of the Match accolade while team mate Kofi Bagabena also took 2/19 in 4 overs.
Daniel Kwabena Anefi took 3/15 in 4 overs while Gurjeet took 2/19 in 2.4 overs for MMG. MMG’s highest in the batting performance was Tajuddin who scored 19/28.
There are more actions coming up on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the Achimota cricket Oval as BGC returns to face MMG.
