Ibrahim Tanko ready to assist ex-Dortmund teammate Otto Addo at Black Stars

Sporting Director for Ghana Premier League side Accra Lion, Ibrahim Tanko has spoken of his readiness to assist the Black Stars technical team if called up.

Tanko who is also a former Black Stars assistant coach says if the team needs him he won’t hesitate to assist them as the 2022 World Cup beckons.

Speaking in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM on his availability to assist the team, particularly, in scouting opponents when called upon, the former assistant coach of Cameroon said he cannot turn his back on Ghana and has availed himself.

“It’s difficult to say no to Ghana, so I am always available. I mostly speak to the technical team led by Otto Addo and anyone knows I played with him at Dortmund. I also started my coaching career with him, so Otto is a good friend and we always get in touch”

“We have to pray for the team but it will be prudent for us to lower our expectations so players won’t be pressured” he added.

Ghana sealed qualification over Nigeria and has been paired in Group H against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
