Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah has assured head coach of the side Maxwell Konadu the full backing of the new management team.

He indicated the unflinching support for the former Black Stars B gaffer when he was speaking during the unveiling of the new management team on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, in Kumasi.

According to him, the hierarchy will do everything necessary to ensure that Konadu succeeds as they strive to revamp the club.

“I have absolute confidence in Coach Maxwell Konadu. I have been a scout for years, and so knows the kind of support that I need to give our technical team to excel,” said the CEO.

As part of measures to ensure that the Technical team deliver their mandate the Porcupine Warriors have secured a partnership deal with Russia-based statistical firm, Instat Football.

Instat Football will assist the players and technical team with reports on matches as well as clips.

Nana Yaw Amponsah also revealed that the club has cut the size of the team to only thirty players.

“We are going to keep 30 players; 4 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders, 4 strikers, 4 youth players and 2 outstanding players,” he said.

Maxwell Konadu was named coach of the club for a second stint in December 2019, but the former Wa All Stars trainer has been under immense pressure from fans after a difficult campaign in the cancelled 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.
