Hasaacas Ladies has become the first club to reach the final of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League after a hard-fought victory.

The Sekondi based team progress to the final after edging Moroccan side AS FAR Club 2-1 on Monday. Hasaacas Ladies will be waiting for the winner of Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea clash at 5:00 pm.

The final will be played on Friday, November 19 2021 at 5:00 pm at 30 June Stadium in Cairo.

Hasaacas Ladies struggled to be at the best in the opening 30 minutes against AS FAR Club, however, they found the much-needed goal that restored confidence in the team after a wonderful corner kick was headed home by Doris Boaduwaa for her first goal of the competition in the 36th minute.

But they failed to hold unto the lead as the Moroccans equalized on the stroke of halftime courtesy Najat Badri.

The Ghanaian giants came in strong in the second half and their effort was rewarded when they were awarded a penalty following a VAR review.

However, Pepertual Agyekum missed the kick and the rebound as the score remained 1-1. Despite failing to score the penalty, the team never looked down and pushed for the all-important goal to settle the tie.

Evelyn Badu came to the team’s rescue once again as he has done in the previous match, converting Doris Boaduwaa’s cross into the back of the net with a powerful header which was her fifth of the tournament.

The team held unto the lead to reach the first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League final.
