Two teams who desperately needed three maximum points for different reasons squared off and locked horns at the Accra sports stadium this afternoon.

Eleven Wonders outwit Great Olympics to secure an all important win in their battle against relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

Both teams needed victory to boost their chances so it was a closed game, but Eleven Wonders showed they wanted the victory more and got it.

And with five minutes remaining on the clock, Abass Ganiu scored the lone goal in a keenly contested game as Wonders won against the top four hopefuls.

The victory has pushed Eleven Wonders to 11th and two points above the relegation zone with two games to spare.

Meanwhile, Great Olympics have dropped out of the top four.
