Ghana FA orders Asante Kotoko to pay GH¢ 25,000 to former winger Maxwell Baakoh

The Ghana FA Players and Coaches Status Committee(PSC) has ordered Asante Kotoko to pay an amount of GH¢ 25,000 to their former winger Maxwell Baakoh.

The amount of money is in respect of unpaid signing-on fees when the player joined the Porcupine Warriors.

The 25-year-old decided against extending his deal with the Ghanaian giants before the start of the 2020/21 Ghsns Premier League after his initial 2-year deal elapsed.

Kotoko failed to meet his demand and was not able to settle his signing-on fee arrears.

Baakoh resorted to the Players and Coaches Statues Committee to seek justice over his unpaid signing-on fees during his stint at the club.

He left the club on a free transfer to join Egypt Premier League side Cleopatra FC before sealing a loan move to Libyan club Al Madina last month.

He becomes the second former Asante Kotoko player to win a case against the Ghanaian giants this week after Kwame Bonsu.  

Asante Kotoko have already been instructed by the Players-players and Coaches Statues Committee of the Ghana Football Association to pay $30,861 to Bonsu over unpaid contractual agreement on his move to Esperance de Tunis.

Asante Kotoko SC have suffered similar situations from several ex-players who are shipped out including were Matthew Kelvin Andoh, Stephen Ayiku Tetteh, Abass Mohammed and Evans Owusu.
