The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has given Ghana up to May 13, 2026 to release their provisional squad for the 2026 World Cup.

This simply means that Coach Carlos Queiroz has about one week to do what FIFA requires of him.

The coach has already selected a 23-man squad for Ghana’s international friendly match against world cup co-host Mexico.

But before the Ghana contingent leaves for this vital assignment, Coach Carlos Queiroz have to look deep into the potential players he has pencilled down and select between 35 to 55 players and submit to FIFA.

According to the organisers, the 55 squd must be cut down to 23 or at most 26 players by June 1, 2026. That will be the final squad to represent Ghana at the biggest soccer fiesta.

FIFA has also set May 25, 2026 as a mandatory date for football clubs all over the world to release players to their various nations that have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
