Veteran goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda has called on all Ghana Premier League clubs to invite referees into their camps to lecture players on the rules of the game ahead of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season.

The new season is set to start on November 14 with an intriguing fixture between Aduana Stars and Hearts Of Oak. The crucial encounter is expected to be exciting as it opens the new season having halted football in the country since March.

Fatau Dauda believes that it will not be out of place for clubs to help their players to be abreast with the laws of the game ahead of the season.

According to him, it will reduce the unhealthy challenges we normally see on the field of play between players and referees.

” know we (clubs) normally invite referees to our camps when we’re participating in Africa competitions to lecture players on rules of the game, ” he told Hello FM.

“I will plead with authorities to let the referees visit the clubs to lecture them on the rules of the game before the start of the new season. .It help prevent unhealthy exchanges because the players will be aware of the rules.

“The teams do it only when they are playing in Africa but I think it will help if we do it locally as well.

“The players will desist from challenging the referees, ” he concluded.
