DOL match-day 22 wrap-up: Accra Lions halt Tema Youth’s unbeaten run, Gold Stars beat Star Madrid, RTU stretch lead at the top

Gameweek 22 of the Division One league saw some exciting games played across the various match centers.

In Zone One, Emmanuel Mensah’s late strike handed Young Apostles a 1-0 victory against Mighty Royals. Real Tamale United defeated Crocodile Stars 3-1 at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Steadfast failed to win once again as they were by Unity FC.

Nkoranza Warriors and Berekum Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw, Bofoakwa Tano were held by Kintampo Fc. Three other games will be played tomorrow, with Tamale City facing Wa Suntaa, Nsoatreman host Yendi Gbewaa and Techiman City welcome Brong Ahafo United.

In Zone Two, leaders Bibiani Gold Stars bounced back from the weekend’s defeat to Asokwa Deportivo as they defeated Star Madrid 2-1. At the Nana Gyamfi Park, Ebenezer Mamatah scored the only goal of the match as 2nd placed Skyy FC beat Proud United 1-0 to keep their chase on the leaders.

Goals from Emmanuel Adu Siaw and Raymond Kwofie earned Samartex a 2-0 win against Achiken FC at Sameraboi. BYF Academy and Asokwa Deportivo played out a 0-0, Wassaman defeated New Edubiase 3-1.

In Zone Three, goals from Oliver Amedor and Rauf Salifu earned Accra Lions a 2-0 victory against Tema Youth at the Tema Stadium. At the Kpando Sports Stadium, Emmanuel Gyan scored earned Heart of Lions a 1-0 victory against Krystal Palace.

Okyeaman Planners thrashed Agbozume Weavers 4-0, Uncle T defeated Danbort 3-0, Phar Rangers and Accra City played out a 1-1 draw in Mampong. The game between Mighty Jets and Nania Fc will take place tomorrow.
