Coach Otto Addo gets new FIFA job

Former Headcoach for Ghana Black Stars, Otto Addo has been handed a new role to play by FIFA in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
The young coach has been selected to be part of the FIFA technical study group for the 2026 World Cup which will last for more than one month.
His specific official duty is to assesses tactics, data and set pieces together with a selected technical FIFA team.
Apart from that, the former Borussia Dortmond trainer will also help to decide on awards that will go to individual players like Man of the Match, Golden Ball among others.
The former Black Stars player who featured in Ghana’s maiden FIFA World Cup appearance in Germany 2006 became an instant hit in coaching after guiding Ghana to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In a crucial decider against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Otto Addo masterminded a vital qualification for Ghana.
Following a goalless draw in Kumasi, Otto Addo led the Black Stars to hold Nigeria to a 1-1 draw at the Moshood Abiola Stadium to qualify on away goal rule.
He also led Ghana to secure qualification for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
Ghana topped Group I comprising Madagascar, Mali, Comoros, Central Africa Republic and Chad with an amazing 25 points from 10 games.
