Caf CL: Gazale to head Kotoko technical bench against Al-Hilal

Asante Kotoko assistant coach, Abdulai Gazale will lead the technical team as head coach in their CAF Champions League game against Al Hilal at the Accra Sports Sports Stadium.

Johnson Smith, who is currently the interim coach following the sacking of Maxwell Konadu cannot sit on the bench as head coach because he does not have the mandatory CAF license A certificate to sit on the bench.

According to our sources, Gazale’s name will appear on Kotoko’s team sheet as the head coach.

The Porcupine Warriors will battle the Sudanese champions in the CAF Champions League 2nd preliminary round 1st leg tie on Wednesday.

Gazelle who was Konadu’s assistant coach was bypassed for the interim coach position as the club believes Smith has the experience to handle the team.

Ivorian official Bienvenu Sinko has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to handle the all-important fixture.
