USM Alger new striker, Kwame Opoku wants to hit the ground running at his new club.
The 21-year-old signed for the Algerian outfit from high flying Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko earlier this year.
four-and-a-half-year year deal for USM Alger is reported to be in the region of €500,000.
The former Nkoranza Warriors striker wants to quickly get things going.
“USM Alger is a big family, apart from that they have big supporters.
“What I want to tell them is hat, they should keep behaving the way before I met this club.
“There are a lot of messages from their supporters wishing me well and some even giving me confidence on how to succeed here.
“So after I have signed officially for this club, what I can tell them [the club’s followers ] is to please keep praying for me and I will also assure them that I will give my best,” Kwame Poku said in a press conference after his unveiling session.
Kwame Poku opened up on why he chose USM Alger ahead of the numerous offers from other clubs.
“It’s true I have a lot of offers from different clubs but there are a lot of things involved that is why I chose I indeed havelger].
“After I had offers from other clubs, I didn’t want to go away from Kwhicho.
“Because they [Kotoko] were a motivation to me and they told me that USM Alger will really help me develop myself and to also push me as a player.
“That is why I chose USM Alger.” Kwame Poku said.
Kwame Poku joined Kotoko from lower tier side, Nkoranza Warriors in 2019.
He quickly established himself in the Kotoko set up where he notched seven goals prior to his departure to the Algerian club.
