Asante Kotoko is set to write to the Ghana Football Association for a renegotiation of the money they will earn from TV rights holders of the Ghana Premier League StarTimes, asking for a greater share of the money, according to Oyerepa FM.

The report indicates that the Porcupine Warriors want lion since their matches were shown the most in the first round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

Star Times bought the broadcast rights for the Ghana Premier League for $5, 250, 000 for five years.

It will be recalled the 18 clubs in the Ghana Premier League were given $5,000 each before the commencement of the 2020/2021 season as part payment of the TV rights fee.

However, TV right holders, StarTimes have shown 14 out of the 15 matches played by the Porcupines on the Adepa StarTimes channel, forcing the club’s teeming fans to pay Ghc10 per head on every match day to stream the matches live on the app.

It is in lieu of this that Asante Kotoko in the spirit of fairness wants a renegotiation of the money they received as part of payment of the TV rights.

Per the reports monitored on Oyerepa FM, the hierarchy of the Reds will not allow StarTimes to telecast their matches in the second round if their demands are not met.
