AFCON Qualifiers: Otto Addo Invites Four New Players

Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo will be announcing four debutants in his squad for the AFCON qualify against Madagascar.

The four debutants are Jan Gyamerah,Antoine Semenyo, Mohammed Salisu and Tariq Lamptey.

Tariq Lamptey has agreed to switch his nationality from his country of birth, England to Ghana, according to London-based Ghanaian coach Freddie.

The marauding wing-back has been on the wishlist of the Ghana Football Association and the news of his nationality switch will be warmly received with the AFCON qualifiers on the horizon.

In-form Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo has formally declared his intentions to suit up for the senior national team, the Black Stars.

He said he took that decision before the World Cup playoffs against Nigeria, however, injury derailed that dream.

Mohammed Salisu has finally decided to play for Ghana, according to Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum.

Moreover, the Southampton defender has been reluctant in honouring a national team invite despite getting call-ups for previous international assignments.

Ghana will begin their qualifiers against Madagascar on June 1, 2022, at the Cape Coast Stadium before playing the Central African Republic four days later.

Ghana is in Group E for the qualifiers alongside, Angola, Madagascar, and the Central African Republic.
