The Phobians hope of winning in Morocco turned out to be a total massacre against them.

Hearts Of Oak Board member, Alhaji Akambi insists the side did not deserve to lose 6-1 to Wydad Athletic Club, saying that the scoreline was too heavy and that the coach needs to explain things to the hierarchy.

The Phobians suffered an embarrassing 6-1 defeat against Wydad Athletic Club in the second leg of the Caf Champions League at the Mohammed V Sports Stadium in Casablanca on Sunday evening.

The Moroccan giants have now advanced to the group stage of the competition with an aggregate scoreline of 6-2 after the two legs.

Speaking after the game, Akambi indicated that the 2000 Caf Champions League winners have learnt a lot from the fixture.

“Coach Samuel Boadu need to explain things to us because Hearts don’t deserve this scoreline but all the same we have learned a lot in this game,We will correct our mistakes going into the Confederations Cup, ” Alhaji Akambi told Light FM.

He also said that WAC deserves the victory on the day.

“It’s so unfortunate we lost the game by that margin but WAC deserves to win the game because our players were playing like they haven’t played football before.”

Hearts have dropped to the Caf Confederation Cup and will have to play another tie before they can qualify to the group stage.
