Abdul Fatawu Issahaku arrives in Ghana to join Black Stars after signing pre-contract

Ghanaian sensation Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has joined the senior national team – Black Stars – to continue preparations ahead of this month’s international friendlies against Morocco and neighbouring Cote d’Ivoire.
Fatawu Issahaku, after spending a couple of weeks in Europe in a bid to secure a move returned to the West African country on Thursday evening.
The African Under-20 best player is expected to join his teammates in Cape Coast as they prepare to leave for Morocco.
The Steadfast FC player was billed to join Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen but the deal hit a snag due to unsuccessful negotiations between Issahaku’s representatives and Leverkusen.
He is reported to have inked a 5-year deal with English Premier League giants Liverpool who are yet to announce the deal.
Other reports suggest the Ghanaian teen will be loaned to Sporting Lisbon for first team experience if the deal is finally made public.
He previously featured for the Ghana U-17 team before gaining promotion to the U-20 side to make his bow during the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations at age 16.
Fatawu Issahaku managed to score two goals and an assist in 6 matches during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tourney held in Mauritania.
Fatawu Issahaku capped off the competition with the winner’s medal as well as the Most Valuable Player in the u-20 AFCON and made the Best XI of the tournament.
He has since been drafted into the national under 23, Black Meteors and subsequently to the senior men’s national team is not far away.
