2020/21 GPL: Match Report: Liberty Professionals come back from behind to beat Dreams FC

Liberty Professionals have exhibited a stupendous display to rise from a goal down to narrowly edge out Dreams FC by 2-1 at WAFA Arena in Sogakope in an exciting and pulsating week 27 tie of the Ghana Premier League.
Astoningly, coach Andy Sinasson at the dugout of the host has dropped first choice goalkeeper Kofi Baah to start Daniel Amisah in goal this afternoon with his reasons yet to be known.
The visitors with an explosive start scoring in the early stages of the game after target man Agyenim Boateng combines sumptuously with Precious Boah to break the deadlock of the game.
Liberty Professionals however, doing anything to ensure they halt their winless run from stretching to six as they have failed to record a win in their last five matches in the ongoing campaign.
Dreams FC after 27 minutes have been the dominant side in the game doing anything possible to maintain their lead and have also been the best team since the commencement of the game here in Sogakope.
The ‘Still Believe’ side came so close on many occasions to double their lead but series of blocks made by the Liberty defence ensured the scoreline remains 1-0 as at on the 34th minute.
The travelers held onto their one goal lead to half time.
Back from recess, having dominated the entire first half, Dreams FC appeared really strong in the second department and nearly scored again after Victor Oduro launched in a decent cross into the box but had no option at far post to get the connection.
The ‘Scientific Soccer’ lads gradually picking up their pieces in the game as they look to take the game at their opponents having remained quiet right from the blast of the referee’s whistle.
The host awarded a penalty on the 50th minute. Abraham Wayo took charge and plotted it nicely at the back of the net to get Liberty Professionals the equaliser.
Victor Oduro again with another incursion after hitting a dangerous one from miles out but a great reflex from goalkeeper Daniel Amissah denied that one from entering into the net.
Liberty Professionals scores again on the 75th minute through midfielder Maxwell Ansah who nets to hand his side the lead for the first time in the game.
Dreams FC coach Vladialav Viric introduced the likes of Dantani Amadu, Ali Huzaif etc hoping to turn things around in the last ten minutes and get them back on track in the game but all proved futile.
It finished 2-1 in the end. Huge win for Liberty Professionals who have now ended their five game winless run and have now moved out of the relegation holding 29 points and sitting 15th on the league log.
