Ghana Premier League Is one Of The Toughest Leagues in Africa – Umar Bashiru

The Enterprising Midfielder has opined that the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign is one of the toughest leagues on the African continent.
Karela United midfielder Umar Bashiru claimed the 2020/2021 campaign is one of the toughest on the continent looking at the intensity and the physical aspect of the league.
” I think this league is very very difficult, it’s one of the toughest league on the continent.
“You could see at the table we have about five or six clubs fighting for the title. Bashiru told Adamu Muftawu.
“At the bottom, we also have five or six clubs fighting for survival.
“So this league is very very tough in terms of the physical aspect of it and intensity. It’s very very great.” Bashiru added.
The 23 year-old joined the Aiyinase based club on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Asante Kotoko before the commencement of the 2019-20 season.
Bashiru has been an instrumental figure for Karela, amassing four man of the match awards.
Karela currently lies 5th on the league log with 42 points after 26 matches.
