The Enterprising midfielder has claimed his toughest opponents so far in the ongoing Ghana Premier League was their game against the inter-continental club masters.

Karela United midfielder Umar Bashiru has posited that their game against Heart of Oak at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park was his difficult game so far in the ongoing season.

The CAM park at Aiyinase has always been a fortress for clubs anytime the clubs visit the said venue.

In recent years, a team either draw or lose at the CAM park, until Asante Kotoko went on to pick a 2-0 vital away win this season at the dreaded venue

Hearts is one of the teams that picked a point at Aiyinase in recent years nonetheless, Bashiru said it was his difficult game so far.

Speaking with Adamu Muftawu, the 23 year-old attributed the intensity of the game was the key feature for his difficulty in the game.

“So far I think my toughest game will be, let me say, let me choose Accra Hearts of Oak.

“In our 1-1 draw against them in Anyinase here.

It was a very tough and very intense game so I will say my toughest game so far is against Accra Hearts of Oak.”

Bashiru joined the Aiyinase based club on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Asante Kotoko before the commencement of the 2019-20 season.

Bashiru has been an instrumental figure for Karela, amassing four man of the match awards.

Karela currently lies 5th on the league log with 42 points after 26 matches.
