2020/2021 GPL REPORT: ADUANA STARS 3-1 KING FAISAL

2 min read

Aduana Stars moved to seventh position in the Ghana Premier League table with one of their best attacking displays under coach Asare Bediako.

Two glowing goals from new signing Benjamin Tweneboah and another from Prince Acquah were enough for the the Ogya Boys to earn a deserved three points at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park this afternoon.

Aduana Stars headed into this match having slipped up badly in their last Premier League game at away to Accra Hearts of Oak last weekend.

The two time champions began the game in blistering fashion but the match experienced some gravid verses after both sides were forced to make early substitutions. King Faisal handed former Asante Kotoko goal keeper, Danlad Ibrahim his debut following an injury to the injured Adam Jabal while Aduana Stars changed new signing Alex Boakye who also got a knock. Defender Abass Mohammed replaced him in the process.

Few minutes later, Benjamin Tweneboah broke the deadlock with a fine strike.

The Dormaa-based club were forced into another change with top marksman Yahaya Mohammed going out for Samuel Bioh.

Few minutes into the second half, the national under 20 goalie was tested again but he dived brilliantly to deny the host a second. However, it did not take long for the home side to double their lead with Tweneboah scoring his brace of the afternoon.

There was no shortage of Aduana Stars ball in King Faisal’s 18-yard box deep into the second half and it paid off with Prince Acquah making it three for the hosts.

Isaac Frimpong pulled one back for King Faisal but it was not enough to save The Insha Allah boys from losing the match.
