We didn’t deserve to lose against Kotoko  – Michael Osei

Gold Stars boss Michael Osei looked back on Friday afternoon's defeat to Asante Kotoko and said: 'We didn't deserve to lose it.'

Bibiani Gold Stars coach, Michael Osei has insisted that his side deserved more and didn’t deserve to lose against Asante Kotoko after creating some decent chances in the game on Friday afternoon.

The Porcupine Warriors secured a third straight victory in the ongoing Ghana Premier League over the Gye Nyame lads at their own backyard on match-day three.

A 55th-minute strike by youngster Isaac Oppong condemned Gold Stars to a defeat at the dreaded Dun’s Park in Bibiani.

The defeat was a first in the league since the opening day for the newcomers.

Looking back, Osei felt it was a game his team did not deserve to lose as it was a balanced encounter.

Speaking after the game, Osei said, “This is a very very unfortunate game, this is the game we don’t deserve to lose the whole three points. It was a balanced game, even we created a lot of chances more than Kotoko but the only small chance that they got gave them the win, it is part of the game so we have to move on and make sure that we do better in the next game.”

“We didn’t play badly, I saw the boys were very determined. They were able to create a lot of chances even the last one that Prince Owusu got he should have levelled the game.”

“One of our goal-scoring chances that we missed should have been scored and that will be good but we will learn from it to make sure that we do our goal scoring exercise very well and convert our chances in our next game.

“For my experience in the game I can see is normal, is part of the game so we need to learn a lot from this game because this is the game we shouldn’t have lost but is part of the game. We will learn from it and do better in our next game.”

Gold Stars will battle Elmina Sharks in Week 4.
