Wakaso starts as Akonnor names starting line-up to face Sudan today

Coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has announced his squad to battle out with Sudan in the match-day four of th 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars are hoping to book themselves a ticket to the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations with a win over the senior national team of Sudan in today’s clash. 

A win over the North African country at the Al Hilal Stadium in Omduram will secure Ghana a place in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in Cameroon. 

The Black Stars have so far, recorded an impressive campaign in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers by winning all three Group C games, scoring five goals and conceding none. 

The game is scheduled for 13:00 GMT kick off. Akonnor has made five changes in his line up that defeat the Sudanese in the first lea tie staged in Cape Coast last Thursday.

Captain Andre Ayew is missing the clash due to injury and his brother Jordan Ayew had been handed the armband to lead the Black Stars this afternoon. 

Lemon Cities goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda will start in post for Ghana. He replaces Richard Ofori who is suspended.

China based midfielder Mubarak Wakaso, Nicholas Opoku, Jeffery Schlupp and Caleb Ekuban have been handed a starting berth as Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey dropped to the bench.
