Mohammed Kudus scored for Ajax as they defeated Excelsior 4-1 to record their first league win in 7 games.
Ajax who were playing for the first time since the departure of Alfred Schreuder opened the scoring in the 15th minute through a penalty converted by Dusan Tadic.
Excelsior leveled the score in the 36th minute through Redouan El Yaakoubi. In the 45th minute, Ajax regained the lead through Davy Klaassen.
Mohammed Kudus extended the lead in the 61st minute. The best Ghanaian player at the recently held SWAG awards struck a perfect shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-1.
Ajax rounded the game off through Devyne Rensch in the 83rd minute, 4-1.
The win which takes Ajax into 4th place with 37 points is their first win in 7 league games. The Dutch league holders had drawn their last 6 league games.
For Kudus, it’s his 7th league goal of the season and his 12th goal in all competitions.
