The Flagstaff House in Accra was sent into frenzy after the Black Stars of Ghana eliminated Nigeria to qualify to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Ghana will be making a fourth appearance in the FIFA World Cup following a 1-1 draw with Nigeria on Tuesday night.
Ghana went into the game knowing that an away goal is all they needed to make it book a place in Qatar later this year following a goalless stalemate at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25.
The visitors took the lead after just eleven minutes through captain of the day, Thomas Partey but that lead was canceled eleven minutes later by Troost-Ekong via a penalty spot much to the delight of the home fans.
After the game, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo who was celebrating his birthday today was joined by the staff at the Flagstaff House to celebrate the nation’s qualification to the Mundial which starts on November 2022 in a heated jama session.
