Unhappy Gyan leaves Legon Cities

Legon Cities FC have received a huge blow from their playing body with the termination of contract from one of their poster boys.

Nicholas Gyan, who inked a two year deal with the Royals ahead of the commencement of the 2020/21 GHPL season has mutually ended his relationship with the Royals.

In an emotional letter intercepted by 442gh.com few weeks ago, the former Ebusua Dwarfs and Simba SC attacking midfielder informed the club of his decision to part ways.

Portion of his termination letter cited unhappy working environment as the key factor in his decision to terminate the two year deal with Legon Cities FC.

“The reason why I want to terminate my contract is that I’m no longer happy working with the club”, excerpts from his letter reads.

However, the club statement signed by CEO, Terry Maxwell Aidam reads;

“The club has received your letter dated the 8th February 2021 and acknowledge its content as such.

“As per the contract signed between the two parties, there are clearly stated clauses of termination that is binding on both parties. We refer to you the clauses states in the agreement(contract) on the inception of your relationship with the club, herein being clauses 14.1 – 14.5.”

“In line with the stated clauses, we mutually (club and player) come to a closure of the contract and wish you the very best for the future”

Nicholas Gyan featured in just 5 games for the Royals after dropping down the pecking order with only 146 minutes under his name all season long.
