President of former Ghana Premier League side New Edubiase United FC, Abdul Salam Yakubu believes Ghanaian attacking midfielder Daniel Afriyie Barnieh should be given a place in the Black Stars as they gear towards Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Ghana, after snatching that needed bragging right from neighbors Nigeria in their last World Cup hurdle, made it to the Mundial later this year.

It marks their fourth FIFA World Cup tournament having missed out in the 2018 edition held in Russia.

Hearts of Oak talisman Daniel Afriyie Barnie is in the news, and it’s astute Ghanaian football Administrator calling for his inclusion into the senior national male team for the tournament.

The former Ghana U-20 forward has been very sensational and phenomenal for the Ghanaian giant’s.

He was the inspiration behind the Continental Club Masters winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup, getting on the record of clinching the treble.

In the ongoing Ghana Premier League, Barnie has eight goals to his credit, helping his side sit comfortably 3rd on the league log.

“They should give this young striker, Barnieh the chance to the World Cup. We have to give him the chance to learn. Afriyie Barnieh is very good, he is a fantastic player, very fast, he is having all the qualities”.

“We have to take him to the World Cup. He is capable of scoring in every game,” Abdul Salam told Original FM.

Barnieh was a member of the Black Satellites that won the 2020 WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament and qualified for the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
