Sports Minister Kofi Adams

Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, says he is open to supporting efforts to integrate players like Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi into the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Adams said the final decision on player selection rests solely with the technical team.

“Every Ghanaian who can play has a chance to go to the World Cup if the coach decides,” he said.

Eddie Nketiah

Adams also commented on discussions about recalling former players, including Baba Rahman, stressing that no player would be excluded based on past involvement.

His remarks come after Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Comoros in Accra, which sealed qualification for next year’s World Cup.

Mohammed Kudus’ goal ensured the Black Stars’ fifth appearance on football’s biggest stage since their debut in 2006.
