Ho based Class one referee, Rustum Gameli Senorgbe, will mark his 20th Ghana Premier League match with the Super Clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match day 7 outstanding tie, moved from December 12, 2021 will be the first time the SWAG member, will officiate Hearts vs Kotoko, since becoming a Premier League Referee in 2019, during the Normalisation Special Competition.

The 37- year old, having officiated other class B matches including Hearts and Kotoko versus other teams, is trusted by the referee’s appointment committee to deliver.

Away from the hype of this game and expectations, officiating is one part, which will be of interest to many, as it is the only match for the day to wrap up the first round.

On February 4, 2021, Rustum was at the centre when Medeama defeated Hearts 1-0 at the T&A Park in a week 12 fixture. His next Hearts game, was a Mantse Derby, where hearts drew 1-1 away to Great Olympics on June 6, a week 28 fixture.

His first Kotoko match was on 6th March, 2020, when the porcupine warriors pipped Karela Utd 1-0 at the T&A Park, a week 13 fixture. In the 2020/2021 season, Kotoko again went away to beat Dreams fc 1-0, in a week 6 tie on December 20, 2020 at the Theatre of Dream and Rustum was at the helm of affairs.

Having officiated a Kotoko match more than Hearts; the Techiman XI Wonders’ 1-1 draw game against Kototo at the Ohene Ameyaw on April 1, 2021, a week 18 feature saw the EPUC graduate in centre.

Rustum is a product of the Wesley Grammar School, Ho Technical University, Writer’s Bureau UK, Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership, USA.

The Broadcast Journalist with Volta Premier (98.1 MHz) in Ho, will be assisted on the lines by Patrick Papala and Gilbert Adom Mensah, while Bashiru Douda mans the fourth official post.

Before their 10th clash, Kotoko has won 2 of their 9 meetings, with Hearts winning 3 and 4 draws, since 2012.

With 12 points separating the two sides, the Phobians would love to close the gap with a win, while Fabulous would also love the extend their lead at the summit. It is all to brag for come Sunday.
